First Things First...
The important questions you probably have before we start working together...
Great question, one you should ask anyone who works with you, whatever their role. Most coaches point to their experience, and I'm proud to say I've been developing leadership capability for 35+years as a coach, trainer and consultant in organizations of all types, working with leaders from front-line to executive boardroom. But, that only matters because I bring these 3 critical things with me...
- Business Mindset: Both of us, coach and coachee, must put the interests of the business that ultimately employs us first, whether private enterprise, not-for-profit, or public service. The results we pursue together should serve that business and it's stakeholders.
- Coaching Mindset: My job is helping you do your job, not doing it for you. I help you see problems in new ways, look for options in places you might not consider, offer insights and practices new to you, and support your efforts to change, but I can't decide or act for you.
- Personal Style: Sorry for the technical language, but I don't deal in "bullshit". I'll be honest with you and keep my promises to you, then expect the same of you. That isn't always easy, for you or me. Trust though is at the core of effective leadership, and honest, direct conversation is key to building that trust. That includes being honest with you if I don't think I can help.
By the way, if that 35+ years bothers you, truth is leadership doesn't really change much over time. The details of your situation are unique, but the core issues are universal and persist over time. This is one area of expertise where experience really does matter.
The best way to find out if I have what you need is to Schedule an Online Introduction. All it will cost you is a little time.
It certainly can be. Our process though helps keep costs down and our coaching convenient for you. Our work together happens mostly via the internet, through online conferences, email and web-based resources. You get the support you need, where you are, when you want. That is far more cost-effective than the more traditional training approach with the expense of high course costs, travel and time away from work.
And on my side, working from my office saves time and travel so I can offer you quality services at low rates and for shorter meeting lengths.
Bottom-line is you get real value, the growth and development you need, for a reasonable investment. Schedule an Online Introduction to find out more.
Absolutely! What you discuss with me stays between you and I. I won't share what I hear with anyone else without your specific permission. Reports from any assessments completed will only be sent to you. I may be required to share general information about progress and timelines with your employer if they are sponsoring your development, but never the details. If I have concerns that sharing could be harmful to you in any way, we would discuss it first.
Nothing more than a little time and honesty. Schedule a complementary Introduction meeting, just 15-30 minutes to discuss your situation and needs, and get to know each other. After that meeting I'll let you know if and how I can help, and what I believe it will take in terms of investment on your part. Then, you decide whether to proceed.
There are times where one or both of us might feel I'm not a good match for your coaching needs. Might be an issue of style, or perhaps you require a specific type of expertise. In that case, I may be able to recommend a alternative provider from the variety of quality colleagues I've worked with over the years. So at worst your initial investment of time will pay off with a great recommendation.
About Our Process...
Questions you may have about how we work with you...
Most often, we meet our clients via online conference. When you schedule a coaching session using our online scheduling tool, instructions to access the meeting are sent to you via email. The platform we use is secure, very easy to access, and user friendly. It allows for face-to-face interaction, sharing and working on documents together, and involving others if helpful. The bonus is that our meetings are recorded and saved for viewing after the fact, a real benefit to check on our conversations.
The quick and easy way to schedule a session is to use our online scheduling system which always has my up to date availability. Just choose a meeting length, then a time that works for you from the options listed and we're set. If you need to connect with me more quickly than that, email ([email protected]) or phone (403.607.9888) work as well.
